The animal health industry has made tremendous contributions to improving the health of animals over the last 50 years, from a vaccine to prevent foot-and-mouth disease to cancer treatments for dogs to an animal vaccine for H1N1. These important milestones have helped to both treat and prevent diseases in animals, and have enabled people to live in close proximity to animals. Thanks in part to animal medicines, we now enjoy a human-animal connection that’s stronger and safer than ever.
Increasingly, research is showing the important role that healthy pets can play in the health and welfare of human beings. With pets and people living in such close quarters, the health and well-being of these animals is critical. When a pet gets sick, proper medical treatment is necessary.
On the farm, animal medicines are a critical link in the food safety chain, both in terms of treating sick livestock to preventing and controlling disease outbreaks. Our responsibility is to effectively bring to market the technology that addresses the global issue of safe, abundant affordable food.
We are proud to be part of this cycle of health that has led to an overall healthier planet.
