Animal Health Institute 101
Who is AHI and what do we do?
AHI Antibiotics Brochure
Antibiotics keep livestock and poultry healthy and our food supply safe, reducing the chance of bacterial transmission from animals to humans. AHI developed this brochure to provide background information on the importance of antibiotics in preventing, controlling and treating disease in animals.
AHI Campaign Brochure
In 2009, AHI launched an educational initiative – Healthy People. Healthy Animals. Healthy Planet. – to educate the public on issues at the nexus of human and animal health.
Animal Health Timeline
A historical timeline demonstrating nearly 100 years of innovation in animal medicine.
The Human-Animal Connection
An overview of the animal health industry’s role in treating and preventing animal diseases, enabling people to live in close proximity to animals. Thanks in part to animal medicines, we now enjoy a human-animal connection that’s stronger and safer than ever.
Principles of Good Advertising and Promotion of Animal Health Products
We have developed a set of guidelines and best practices to help ensure any advertising and promotion of animal health products is accurate, fair, complete, clear, and appropriate for the given medical need.
Veterinary Compounding Brochure
Veterinarians occasionally use compounded preparations to meet a specific animal’s medical need. AHI, the American Veterinary Distributors Association (AVDA), and the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) are working together to help veterinarians understand FDA requirements for compounding preparations for veterinary use, and the distinction between drug products approved by the FDA and compounded preparations.
